    Hi
Can someone tell me where in the OHSAct / Construction regulations does it stipulate doing DSTI's? or is it just a 'best practice' that has been adopted?

    Hi Jackie

This is not in the OSH Act or Construction regulations but merely a best practice. The system runs in accordance with HIRA as an additional daily training or reminder of hazards and risks involved for the day with intention to reduce incidents and accidents and raise awareness on OHS.

I hope this has answered your question and feel free to ask more as and when required

    Thanks very much.
That's what I thought but I've been dealing with a Client's H&S manager who insists that it's in the legislation and that it MUST be done & the person doing it must have a certificate saying they've been trained in HIRA. Was just wanting to double check my understanding before diplomatically calling him an idiot...

    Its a pleasure Jackie
DSTIs can be done by the appointed supervisor and does not need a certified HIRA candidate to carry out. You may request him to quote the clause that states this.
