The development of training material for levels 2 & 3 is in progress and under review. It is envisaged that all related material should be completed by June 2010 for final review prior to availibility to training providers and going to market.

The finalisation of these qualifications is a milestone for industry. In the pipeline, via the Chieta, is the development of NQF 4 unit standards.

1. Should industry allow non registered persons to continue working? Should they be reported to the highest authority being the Dept of Labour if they contravene regulations/standards?

How would you know what is the incorrect air/gas ratio that will cause a unsafe condition?

A UV scanner will always see a flame even if it is out of ratio so how will the safeguard system see if the ratio is out ?

If a flame rod is used it will trip the system on rich flame but not a UV
