Actions of the employer in order to prevent accidents and incidents.

    The employer must inter alia:


    1. Designate a person/persons as responsible to ensure that the requirements of the OHSAct are met.
    2. Ensure that machinery is guarded to prevent injury to persons.
    3. Ensure that inexperienced persons are made aware of the dangers attached to the operation of machinery. (The above applies when the employer is also a user of machinery).
    4. Appoint health and safety representatives when more than 20 persons are employed at a workplace.
    5. Establish health and safety committees when more than two safety representatives are appointed.
    6. Designate persons to ensure that machinery used complies with the OHSAct.
    7. Provide protective clothing and equipment to the employees.
